I was waiting for someone who was running a little late and getting impatient by the minute but comforting myself that everything happens for a reason... what else can one do then except wait and watch precious minutes go by. The alternative of course is to just get up and leave which I almost did.
But Mr Butterfly (or Miss Butterfly) came along and was flying around me, giving me that come hither look, challenging me and taking my attention away from boredom and seemingly saying, "Hey, look at me, I am gorgeous!" "Show off", I muttered and ignored it. It kept coming back and I felt honoured and flattered that it thinks that I am worth getting attention from ....so I took the bait and clumsily took out my camera and shot it. As if it knew it now had my attention, Mr Butterfly perched on a cluster of yellow flowers, flapping its wings and showing off its spectacular colours!
Using my zoom lens, I took several shots, but my skills in getting the camera's mode like setting the Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO right is very much lacking, and so I couldn't get the desired shot. Still, I managed to play around with the settings. These are some of my best shots and I am rather pleased with them.
Oh well, I shall treat this as my learning process. So thank you Mr Butterfly. Yes, everything happens for a reason, you helped me learn something.
As if saying, "it's my pleasure", it flapped its wings and circled around me and disappeared, most probably on the lookout for its next 'victim' in need of help, leaving me a little forlorn......
Goodbye Mr Butterfly and thank you for lesson learnt....
Cheers!!

Hello Angie, love your these candid shots. Well done! And that butterfly is beautiful too. Hey, next day if near a ladang if see a Rajah Brooke, take a shot! Its a pity old days I hardly had my camera with me, a Yashica Electro 35 SLR film camera, bulky thing!
ReplyDeletePhotography is always interesting as well exciting, like your these very beautiful pics...catching that moment in time, and never again.
I now never leave home without my pocket Nikon, size of a cigarette box, fits into my pocket perfectly, and like you, I wait for my wife very often, and to kill boredom, will just klick away at whatever captures my attention, butterflies too, only mine with 2 shapely legs, ha ha ha.
You have fun and keep a song in your heart.
Best regards.
Lee.
Hi Lee, thanks for liking the shots. Love them too and especially as they were candid shots. Pity my DSLR camera is so bulky and quite a handful to lug around everywhere. So now I have to be contented with my Iphone camera. The shots not as good still it is so handy. I click on everything food, scenery, people. Sometimes I am amazed at the number of pictures stored in my mobile some totally useless hahaha.
ReplyDeleteWish someday bank manager my good friend, so perhaps can get myself a small pocket Nikon camera that functions almost like if not better than a DSLR.
Ahh the Rajah Brooke butterfly, simply beautiful creature aren't they. I love the startling almost luminous greenish and black colour of its wings. Will be definitely be on the lookout.
Thanks for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
Angie
Deear Lovely, elegant Angie,
ReplyDeleteMay the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness, and riches.
Today, tomorrow, and beyond.
.......A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam…
and for a brief moment it’s glory
and beauty belong to our world…
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all..........Thank you for sharing and by the way excellent photo shots. ...Best regards AL.
Hi Al, thank you so much for that lovely wishes. I love it very much.
ReplyDeleteYou know, the fact that I can capture these beautiful creatures and freeze them thru my lens, share a little of my passion and make another person smile, gives me a sense of satisfaction. It is as if senses are heightened and every emotion magnified… Does that make sense? LOL
The butterflies are beautiful creatures,
looks just like flying flowers
gosh, I almost wish I was a butterfly
so I can fly around this beautiful wide world
and problems are not problems
and worries are not worries…
Cheers and best regards
God bless.
Angie.
